Sickness is no fun!

So, this morning when I woke up to the sound of Luke talking to himself I was excited to have a good day and to finally go to church because I have not been in weeks due to Luke being sick and Clemson football games. Much to my surprise I walk into the nursery and the smell hits me smack in the face! I go to get Luke and he has vomited all over the sheets, bumper, lovey and himself. Oh...what a way to start the day! I'm assuming he did this last night although I really have no idea b/c the child never fussed, cried, anything so I assumed all was well. He did have a few coughing fits but nothing unusual (as he's still trying to get over the snotty mess he had last weekend!)
Well, I can handle about anything but the smell of vomit makes me want to! I got Luke changed, fed him, gave him a bath and low and behold he does it again but this time, all over Trey! :) So, guess what we have at our house? The stomach bug! It definitely isn't fun but Luke has been a trooper. Of course with it being Sunday I had to call the answering service but they were very helpful and Luke really doesn't act like he's sick at all, which of course, is a blessing. I'm praying that this thing doesn't last long and he has a good rest of the day (I'm tired of doing laundry). He hasn't had a fever which is wonderful and he's been able to keep down the 2 diluted bottles he's had. So, things are looking up! I'll keep you posted!

Dancing Baby

So, Luke loves to dance and everytime we sing to him, he jumps around. It's too funny! Well, today when I went to pick Luke up from daycare, Mrs. Iris (his teacher) had to tell me all about what Luke did today. She said she put him in his crib to play for a little bit (I'm sure this was so he wasn't into everything! ). When she went to check in on him, his britches were off and he was standing up bouncing to the country music they play in the baby room! I have no idea how his pants got off and she said he almost had his diaper off! I honestly cracked up! I guess I'll have to put him in one-piece outfits from now on! Now I know you're probably thinking why would she leave him in his crib and walk out...well, his daycare is in Mrs. Goss' house so all of the rooms are open to each other. Anyway, I just had to share this little funny with you. Of course he would do something that silly when no cameras were around and while he was at daycare! I can just see him now, jumping up and down to the country music! It still makes me laugh just thinking about it!

Baby Proofing 101

So, I'm really wondering if you can ever "baby proof" a house. Luke is in the expert crawler stage and it's scary the amount of things he can get into in a minute's time. He is definitely keeping Trey and I on our toes to say the least. Last night Luke found the cord to the lamp that hangs behind the end table in the den. Of course, he has to crawl under the end table to get to it which makes it that much more fun! I don't want to be one of those moms who puts everything away because I want Luke to know what he can and cannot touch so I can actually take him in public or to someone else's house and him not ransack the place! I know it is only going to get harder as the days go on and he begins walking (which I'm pretty sure isn't too far off).

It is hard to believe my little boy is 7 1/2 months old. He's started saying "ba ba" to just about everything. I'm pretty sure he's not associating those sounds with anything particular but it is fun to wonder what he's actually "saying" to his toys and to us!

Luke had a visitor today. Papa Mok (Mike) came into to town to see Luke after his weekly golf game in B-L. Luke is always excited to have company and had a blast playing with Papa Mok. He was showing off his crawling/pulling up skills and babbling away to his stuffed monkey. Here are some pics fromt their visit together.
Luke is kissing his toy monkey below. Too cute!

Luke is sick :(

So while we were in Greenville over the weekend, Luke developed the sniffles. Of course, I had left the meds at home and he would get sick over the weekend. Aside from being sleepy and a little cranky you would have never known the child was sick! We got home late Saturday night and I stared him on his meds and by Sunday his nose was well...yucky! Yesterday I stayed home from work and took Luke to the doctor. Luckily, it's just a head cold and he doesn't have an ear infection (I was hoping he didn't have ear infection #5). Luke went back to daycare today and is doing well. The new meds work wonders!

First Time Blogger!

So...I'm definitely crazy for thinking that I'm going to be able to keep up with a blog but I'm going to put forth a strong effort! We had a great weekend in Greenville this past weekend. Trey, Luke and I went up for the Clemson game and I ended up staying with Luke at Nana and Pop's house because Luke wasn't feeling well. We had a great Saturday! Nana, Luke and I met Aunt Julie and Uncle Ben at Chick-fil-A. It was the first time they had seen Luke since the beach! He was quite a flirt and did so well even though he wasn't feeling well! After lunch we went to Old Navy and found the perfect halloween costume! You'll have to stay posted to see what he'll be. :) We went back to Nana and Pop's house and Luke played with Uncle Erik's dog, Boomer before taking a nice long nap! He loves Boomer and had a great time playing with him. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
