Santa and Lights at the Zoo

It's that time of year again and I've been completely slack about my blog!

Oh well...it's always the same! Last year we didn't get to take Luke to see Santa because he had pneumonia and I had knee surgery the week before Christmas. Needless to say it was not the best timing! So, this year we decided (well, I decided) to take Luke to see Santa and then go to Riverbanks Zoo to see the lights. I was completely excited, Luke had no clue what was going on and Trey, well, let's just say he wasn't thrilled!

Our first stop was Santa and to my surprise, the lines weren't too long. We waited for about 30 minutes and Luke kept saying "San, San." He even waved from afar and got a little embarrased when Santa waved back. Then came the real test. We get up to Santa and put Luke on his lap and the back arches and the tears flow. Needless to say, Luke did not take a picture of Santa by himself but we did get a family photo with me sitting on Santa's lap and Luke on Trey's knee. Oh well, maybe next year!

After Santa, it was off to Riverbanks Zoo to see "The Lights Before Christmas." I had never been so I was excited and boy was it cold! Luke was all bundled up and looking like a cutie patootie! He seemed to enjoy the lights, especially the garden of flowers. He of course had to name all the colors he knew which was super cute. Most of the animals had been put up because it was so cold but we did get to see the farm animals which Luke was completely in to. It really didn't take too long to walk through the zoo with speedy Trey but we did get to roast marshmallows before we left. Luke loved it and had a good time eating them too! All in all, it was a good night. Not sure if the Zoo was worth $16 but I'm glad Luke had the experience!

YUMMMMMM!
