A Weekend Away...

Luke (23 months) and Betsy (17 months)

They loved listening to the stories!

A very cold golf cart ride!

For the past few years we've headed down to Litchfield Beach with our good friends, The Elferts. This year was no exception so we packed our things and headed down with Luke on New Year's Eve. Luke did so good on the ride down and so I was hoping for a good weekend. Although, I will let you know that we took his paci AKA "pap" away the Sunday before so I was unsure of how things would go!
We met Todd, Erin and sweet little Betsy down at the beach house and we were really looking forward to a calm New Years Eve and my last weekend before going back to work!
We had a great time with The Elferts! Luke loved playing with Betsy although we did have to play referee with the toys! Luke did have a hard time sleeping which I figured because of the no pap situation and the fact we were in a strange place.
We had a great New Years Eve! We rang in the New Year with a glass of champagne and headed to bed! New Years Day was calm, relaxing and lazy! We hung around, ate a lot of good food, took the kids for a ride on the golf card and Trey made Chicken Stew for supper!
The last full day Erin and I got to go shopping alone! It was so nice to shop without worrying about Luke pulling all of the clothes off the rack! We got a lot accomplished but we still wished we would have had a stroller!

We had such a good time and look forward to this little weekend getaway every year! It's funny, because of all the times I've been there, I've still never seen the beach! Luke had such a good time but was definitely ready to be home! He went to bed early without a peep and without the pap!
